Jorge Ramirez-Escudero is a Tokyo-born, London-bred, Madrid-based composer and sound designer. He composes, produces, mixes, arranges and orchestrates music and sound design for advertising, audio branding, film, broadcasting, documentaries and animation.
With more than 20 years of experience, Jorge brings wide-ranging musical fluency to agencies, music houses, creative production studios, film and television teams, directors and artists. His work moves comfortably between distinctive song-led ideas, orchestral detail, sound design and audio branding.
His work has been presented at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, The New Museum in New York and Galería Vermelho in São Paulo, as well as at MIT, TED Talks, Dakar Biennale, SXSW and the Rotterdam Film Festival. He also performs internationally as the vocal one-man-band artist Hyperpotamus.
Jorge’s client work includes projects for Apple, Google, American Express, Disney, Samsung, Mercedes-Benz, Adidas, Nike, Spotify, The New York Times and HBO. His work has received recognition from the Webby Awards, Communication Arts, Shorty Awards, LAUS, Stockholm Fringe and the Málaga Film Festival.
